Saturday, October 27

8:15: AIDS Walk Washington

Join us at First Congregational Church DC (10th & G Streets NW) for coffee. Leave at 8:55 am for the step-off of the walk at Freedom Plaza (13th & Pennsylvania Ave.). If you are planning to meet at First Church, please let Janet Moyer know: jmoyer@westmorelanducc.org.

 

3 pm: Connor Memorial (Sanctuary)

 

4 – 10 pm: The Home Initiative Sale

The HOME Initiative supports housing and education in Sierra Leone, following twelve years of civil war there.
The following vendors provide shopping opportunities: KOTO Hot Pepper, Epic Media for photography and videography, earrings from Kenya, Tricoteurs’ hand-made knits, holiday trip planning through Jabs Travel, and event-planning from The Special O. (Mabry Room)

Sermon: “Winners and Losers” – Rev. Timothy Tutt

10 am: Church School

After the Children’s Sermon in the service, 5 year olds through 5th graders are invited to Church School:

  • 5 year olds – 3rd Grade: Holy Moly! Stories of the Bible. (Room 26 – Red)
  • 4th – 6th Grade:
    Jesus and His Kingdom of Equals. Learning about the land and teachings of Jesus and how we can live out his vision of equality and peace.

    (Rm 26 – Blue)

  • 7th – 12th Grade: Faith & Film. Begins at 10 am. (Youth Room)

 

11:15 am: Coffee Hour (Social Hall)


Join us for conversation and light refreshments.

 

11:30 am: Children’s Handbell Choir (Mabry Room)

 

11:30 am: OWL parent orientation (Library)

 

12:15 pm: Adult Handbell Choir (Mabry Room)

 

4 pm: Now Orchestra Concert
