Rev. Jessica Petersen
Minister for Children, Youth and Families
Jessica
joined Westmoreland as the Director of
Children's and Youth Ministries in September 2007. She is excited to
begin her post-seminary ministry with such a welcoming congregation and
loves engaging in ministry with the children and youth. She grew up in
rural Iowa where it actually takes 10 minutes to drive 10 miles but is
quickly becoming accustomed to the busyness of the DC area. Jessica was
awarded her B.A. degree in Religious Studies by the University of Iowa
in May 2004 and the degree of Master of Divinity by Eden Theological
Seminary in St. Louis in May 2008. She was ordained as a minister in
the UCC by the Northwest Association of the Iowa Conference in 2009
and was installed as Westmoreland's Minister for Children, Youth and
Families on May 31, 2009.
