Dear Westmorelanders and Friends,

With the wonderful 60th Anniversary celebration behind us, it’s time to think ahead to widening our circle of fellowship at the church retreat! We need you to make it a success. Join us October 2-4, 2009 for relaxation, renewal and fun for adults, youth and children. In the last two years enough of us have signed up for this wonderful weekend so that Westmoreland had the whole retreat site to itself! Let’s do it again this year!

For the third year, we’ve booked Camp Wabanna Christian Retreat Center in Edgewater, Maryland for Friday night through Sunday. Just an hour east of Westmoreland, the Retreat Center offers a beautiful setting on the Chesapeake Bay, south of Annapolis. We can watch the sunrise and sunset and all the sailboats in the Bay.

The program will include break out sessions for adults, children and youth, including the confirmation class. The Volunteer Corps will join us for the retreat this year again as well. After morning sessions, folks can choose from a wide variety of activities including beach time, boating, kickball, basketball, tennis, climbing wall, confidence course, giant swing, rest and relaxation, singing, campfires and lots of opportunities for fellowship, friendship and fun! Everyone will share meals in the dining hall and spend time learning, talking, praying and enjoying each other’s company. For vegetarians (and low carb eaters), there’s a salad bar with lunch and dinner.

The main lodge (capacity 76) has college-style rooms with shared bathrooms down the hall. Two bunkhouses (capacity 56) have four large bunkrooms (14 beds per room) with shared bathrooms. Rooms in the main lodge will be allotted first, based on the order in which registrations are received. After allowing for the youth and chaperones, bunkhouse space will be allotted second. All the rooms are squeaky clean and fresh, with new mattresses!
