On the weekend of the 125th Anniversary of Westmoreland Church, Music and Arts at Westmoreland presents an organ concert: The "Colors of the Organ," an eclectic program with works by Bach, Alain, Whitlock, Berlinski, Langlais and Hampton. We welcome to the organ former Director of Music (1979-2003) Sondra Goldsmith Proctor.
The concert is free and no tickets are required. Donations are gratefully accepted to benefit Shaw Community Ministry, and organization that seeks to increase family stability and encourage residents to become responsible, well-rounded, and productive citizens who are able to sustain and contribute to their community. SCM accomplishes these objectives by providing opportunities that increase knowledge and encourage youth and families to reach their full potential. A reception follows the concert.

Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ presents a narrated concert for children of all ages, "The Carnival of the Animals," composed by Camille Saint-Saëns and "Laberinto" by Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez and featuring the New Orchestra of Washington (N.O.W), Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez, Music Director and Grace Cho, Managing Director and founders. Introduce your children and youth to the joys of orchestral music. Following the concert children may try out different instruments at a "petting zoo" and everyone is invited to join us in the Social Hall for snacks. The concert is free and no tickets are required.
This concert is made possible by the generosity of John Parachini and is dedicated to the loving memory of Lyles Victor Parachini.

Music & Arts at Westmoreland presents the B.A.R. Piano Trio performing exciting chamber music by Piazzola, Babajanian, and Mendelssohn. Regino Madrid on violin, Benjamin Wensel on cello, and Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez on piano. The B.A.R. Piano trio has performed with great success in the Washington area as well as in Mexico, including a sold-out performance in the historic Degollado Theatre in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The concert is free and no tickets are required. Donations are gratefully accepted to benefit the Montgomery County Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI), a non-profit grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. A reception follows the concert.

Join us for our annual Music Sunday worship service to hear Benjamin Britten's hauntingly beautiful "Ceremony of Carols" sung by the Westmoreland Chancel Choir, with Michelle Laundy on harp and Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez conducting.
This annual special service has for purpose to bring word and music together by presenting masterworks of the choral repertoire.

Music & Arts at Westmoreland presents "Riders to the Sea" by Ralph Vaughan Williams based on a play by Irish playwright John Millington Synge. The opera will be performed by the chamber choir Voix de Femmes (Annick Kanter-Saint Hubert, Artistic Director), soloists, and will be directed by Grace Cho, opera coach at the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music.
The concert is free and no tickets are required. Donations are gratefully accepted to benefit the Marie Reed Community Learning Center, an elementary school in northwest DC with which Westmoreland has a partnership that provides the school with math and reading tutors and financial assistance. A reception follows the concert.

Music & Arts at Westmoreland presents the annual Westmoreland Choral Concert featuring "Requiem Op. 48" by Gabriel Fauré. The performance will feature the Chancel Choir of Westmoreland Congregational Church, the New Orchestra of Washington (N.O.W.), and soloists Laura Choi Stuart, soprano and George Singleton, baritone. Westmoreland’s Director of Music Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez will conduct the performance.
The concert is free and no tickets are required. Donations are gratefully accepted to benefit Bethesda Cares, a Bethesda-based organization that serves homeless people with day shelter, food, clothing, psychiatric care, job assessment and connections to social services. A reception follows the concert.
